Don't forget to stop at Maui Coffee Roasters, in the shopping area where Hana Hwy and Dairy Road intersect. They have a great selection. Have a cup there, take some home with you, or they can ship for you, too.

Proprietor Nicky Beans serves oversize pastries with cups of java from the far corners of the earth (you can buy beans to go). Breakfast is served all day and includes smoked salmon Benedict and a breakfast wrap in a sun-dried tortilla, in addition to the requisite bagels. The sandwiches and salads are bountiful, and the soup is made fresh, with plenty of vegetarian options. A regular clientele of students, windsurfers and visitors headed to or coming from the airport packs the place daily.

While it is a little out of the way, some locals swear that this shop serves the best, most authentic Kona coffee on the island. Local media would seem to agree: the Maui News voted the coffee Best in Maui. This unassuming, quiet coffee shop, located on the side of a main Maui highway, always has a few customers lingering over mugs of coffee and tasty cookies. It sells genuine Kona by the pound, as well as souvenir T-shirts and decadent flavored coffee blends.
